Boy do I agree!! I was in a national park years ago and had my dog, leashed, with me. We were taking a break, sitting under a tree by the side of the path when a cop on horseback showed up. Said dogs not allowed because because they scare horses. Nowhere is that stated on trailheads, literature, etc. And the only horses are ones ridden by cops... 🤔😳

Hi Steven.

I agree with you wholeheartedly! The FWC are challenged by lack of officers but that's no excuse for the way they operate.

I run a small 6 pack charter boat in Upper Keys (Lucky Fish Scuba) and we have occasions like you mentioned as well. I get our boat (World Cat 295DC) coast guard approved by the Auxiliary every year and its pretty in depth inspection. FWC pulls us over randomly and ignore CG sticker saying they are State not Federal. They soon realize they are wasting their time! BTW, I now have a FWC sticker which supposedly will prevent further boarding's, we will see! Our biggest issue is the lack of enforcement on the water. Fishing boats tied up to mooring balls in the SPA areas etc. Never a law officer to be seen.

They go after the law abiding citizen behaving themselves instead of the ones that should be prosecuted. Once in Everglades Park I phoned in an infraction. They said local officer would contact me. He did, 2 DAYS later! Rant over. I could state and cite many more cases. Great books.

I agree.. A little bit of power goes to some folks' heads.. FWC, BLM, the lot of them are more of a PIA than a help to public.
