I’ve been in the Keys for the past week with my better half and some friends, so I haven’t paid much attention to politics. Interesting enough, not much has changed after taking a week off. I’m still here, but with a few days to kill before some buddies come down to fish the Cow and Bull Dolphin Tournament this weekend.
It’s been windy—really windy here. Typically winds average from 10-12 knots, some days less, others more. The last week the wind has been in the mid 20’s. Still plenty to do: kayaking the canals and nearshore waters of Big Pine Key, biking Key West (the best way to see the city), and fishing some protected areas that I know.
By myself for the day, I did some chores and took Hershey, our dog for a paddle in the kayak. Yesterday we found this wrecked sailboat, but I didn’t have my phone. We returned today for a better look and some pictures. Somewhere here, there is a story.
The water in the area is inaccessible to anything other than a kayak. Water depth is about a foot through the entire area surrounding the boat. The only explanation that I can come up with is that it was deposited by Irma when the hurricane came through in 2017.
Agree…my first thought
If there's a story, you can be sure that Trufante is involved. Really, who besides Tru could manage to turtle a sailboat in a foot of water...
